Unicorn Frappuccino: As Mystical as the Name?

I'm not usually one to follow the hype of new food trends, but after scrolling through my social media and seeing so many articles as well, I said why not?
I went to my local Starbucks to find out what all the buzz was about surrounding this drink. After waiting a hefty amount of time and pay a crazy price. I thought, this drink must be magic! I mean, they wouldn't sell a drink for that much unless it actually turned you into a unicorn ... right? To my surprise though, it wasn't really that good... While it does make for a good Instagram worthy pic, I just couldn't get over the curdle and the taste of an obnoxiously sugary drink. With over 410 calories; I feel like I could've just gotten my regular Strawberry Acai. Now, I know what your thinking by now... " Is she really gonna trash the drink in this whole article?" and to answer your question... yes, I actually am, I mean duh- my blog. No but all jokes aside- I can say there are some things that I do like about it..

After saving this as a draft, and thinking for an hour about what I genuinely found satisfying about this $5.00 drink, I've come to conclude a few things that I actually cared for:
Magical fairy powder (Sprinkles)
Blue "Goo"
Before the drink actually curdles, the whip cream and sprinkles are actually a cute and nice touch. They are awesome for an appealing eye to presentation. I would say the "blue icing", or "goo" , or "candy syrup" would be a good just by itself, as a candy like a Starburst! Not as a liquid, but as a solidified candy. If I were to describe the taste; I would say that its definitely like a zingy sour taste of a childhood candy.
All in all, I have to say that I could see what Starbucks was trying to do, and it was a good for market. But when it comes to the taste, it's time to go back to the drawing board. I know a lot of people who would agree when I say that the drink didn't really make me feel like an awesome mystical unicorn ... but a very lonely pissed off horse on the range.
